This Class is designed to give the trained massage practitioner in-depth knowledge and skills necessary to perform a wide range of massage techniques to meet a client’s needs. Additional emphasis is on learning how to assess the client and develop a customized massage program to meet these needs and concerns. Students learn specific anatomy and manual therapies relating to each body part and condition addressed, pain dynamics, exercise and learn the signs of common injuries, how massage can help alleviate them, and when to refer a client to another health care professional. In addition, athletic massage, and how to give an on-site massage is included in this course. This course includes and builds on the tools and techniques of the Massage Therapist Course (Level I) and is an extension and refinement of skills, which builds confidence in the student and prepares the student for the transition to a professional Massage Therapist in the workplace.
This course takes four to six months to complete. Offered every module. Classes meet four days a week for four months or three evenings a week and week-ends for six months. Taught in an independent modular format.

Student to bring own linens, (twin fitted sheet, twin top sheet, and a single pillowcase), and a hand towel for personal use. Students will be responsible for bringing and laundering their own linens.
This course combines lecture, demonstrations, tools, techniques, and professional skills, along with hands-on experiences in the classroom.
A Diploma for 250 Hours as a Advanced Massage Therapist is awarded upon completion.
Graduates enter the workplace as a professional to gain employment. Career opportunities include medical clinics, hospitals, physician’s offices, health and fitness centers, pain clinics, spas and resorts or in private practice.
Students have the opportunity to continue on in preparation and advance to the next level as a Master Massage Therapist. |
