This Course is a comprehensive program designed to give the trained massage practitioner in-depth knowledge and skills necessary to perform a wide range of massage techniques to meet a client's needs. Students learn specific anatomy, CPR, and manual therapies relating to each body part and condition addressed, pain dynamics, exercise and learn the signs of common diseases, how massage can help alleviate them, and when to refer a client to another health care professional. This course builds on the tools and techniques of the Advanced Massage Therapist Course and is an extension and refinement of skills, which builds confidence in the student and prepares the student for the transition to a professional Certified Somatic Therapist in the workplace.

Prerequisite: Advanced Massage Therapist 250 Hour, or equivalent. Taught in an independent modular format. Length of course is twenty-two weeks, three evenings a week, plus some weekend classes. Offered every module.

This course combines lecture, demonstrations, tools, techniques, and professional skills, along with hands-on experiences in the classroom, as well as an internship.

Graduates enter the workplace as a professional to gain employment. Students are prepared to offer services in health and medical settings, by providing an adjunctive health service for remedial or rehabilitation purposes.

A Diploma for 500 Hours as a Certified Somatic Therapist is awarded upon successful completion.
