This program is available as an evening class or as an accelerated day class. This course is an in-depth program designed to empower the student to broaden the scope and practice of massage therapy. This class provides the opportunity to deepen your work through advanced classes and review, enabling the student to perform a wide range of massage techniques to meet a client's needs. Taught in an independent modular format. Students learn advanced anatomy, and manual therapies. Pain dynamics, exercise and learn to recognize the signs of common diseases, how massage can help alleviate them, and when to refer a client to another health care professional. This course builds on the tools and techniques of the Master Massage Therapist Course and is an extension and refinement of skills, which builds confidence in the student and prepares the student for the transition to a professional Clinical Master Massage Therapist in the workplace. The overall objective of this course is for the student maximize knowledge as a Massage Therapist and enable him/her to utilize advanced clinical techniques to assess and appropriately treat disorders of the body which may benefit from massage. The student will learn soft tissue manipulation combined with acupressure points and techniques to help them release tension, increase circulation, and reduce pain. The students receive hands-on training and knowledge necessary to succeed in caring for clients. Career opportunities include medical clinics, hospitals, physician's offices, health and fitness centers, pain clinics, spas and resorts or in private practice. This course qualifies the student and prepares them for National Massage Therapy Certification. Classes meet for four days a week for approximately ten months or for four evenings a week, for approximately ten months. Modules are taught in an independent format. This class utilizes a hands-on approach. Students' practice the tools and techniques just introduced during class lectures and demonstrations. Refinement is done during the instructor's rounds and later discussed as an entire class. Individual attention is given to guide the student's progress. Course Outline
