| This
course follows the 500-hour training Somatic Therapist and is a comprehensive
program empowering the student to effectively use the healing art of Advanced
Massage techniques. This Class is a comprehensive program designed
to give the trained massage practitioner in-depth knowledge and skills
necessary to perform a wide range of massage techniques to meet a client's
needs. Taught in an independent modular format.
Prerequisite:
Certified Somatic Therapist 500- Hour, or equivalent.
Students learn
specific anatomy, and manual therapies relating to each body part and
condition addressed, pain dynamics, exercise and learn the signs of common
diseases, how massage can help alleviate them, and when to refer a client
to another health care professional. This course builds on the tools and
techniques of the Somatic Therapist Course and is an extension and refinement
of skills, which builds confidence in the student and prepares the student
for the transition to a professional Certified Master Somatic Therapist
in the workplace.
The objective of
this course is for the student to utilize a variety of clinical modalities
in caring for clients in private practice or in a clinical setting.
Classes meet for
three evenings/days a week for fourteen months, or expanded according
to the time frame of each student's schedule.
This class utilizes
a hands-on approach. Students' practice the tools and techniques just
introduced during class lectures and demonstrations. Refinement is done
during the instructor's rounds and later discussed as an entire class.
Individual attention is given to guide the student's progress.
A diploma is awarded upon successful
completion of this course as a Certified Master Somatic Practitioner in
the workplace. |
