When we start a new blog, my team and I research what people are typing in search engines. This helps us understand how to reach the people that are looking for the information we desire to provide. We realized the amount of people suffering from anxiety and depression has risen exponentially over the past couple years. Of course a worldwide pandemic paired with war can be a huge contributing factor. The state of our nations mental health issues continue to rise and with that there is a demand for healthier alternatives for healing and wellness. We will face challenges, it’s part of life here on earth. How we respond to those challenges is key to unlocking the healer within and be able to live your best life regardless of what’s happening around you. This is what “Self Healing” is all about.
What Are Some Causes of Anxiety Attacks?
At the moment a lot of people are struggling with finances, health precautions, family health issues surrounding COVID, negative media, war and the overall state of our world. So it makes sense why the numbers are much higher.
There are many different experiences of anxiety attacks. An example that many face is what some refer to as an “existential crisis”. Which is heavy feelings of unease about the meaning of life, choices we’ve made etc. Also referred to as “existential anxiety” they are both similar because the main concerns are the same: feelings that life is inherently pointless, that our existence here has no meaning and the inevitable fact that we are not going to live in this human body forever. Then thoughts of, “what comes next?” or “how will it end?”. These feelings can be overwhelming and will bleed on every area of your life if you don’t get it under control.
Existential anxiety also tends to surface during transitions in our lives and reflects difficulty adapting. A few examples are: changing jobs, losing your job or getting laid off, moving away from home or your support group, or maybe your child moving back home, sometimes it an intense persistent fear about every day situations.
When we face these difficult changes, we can feel as though the foundation on which we built our life is crumbling. This can lead to questioning the meaning of our own existence and lead you down a path of sadness and discomfort physically as well. Your mind, body and emotions are all connected so your anxiety can manifest in physical discomfort. Some people may suffer from heart palpitations, sweating, shaking, stomach aches, body aches, etc.
Anxiety can also be a normal part of life. For example, if you’re in stressful situations such as applying for college, paying bills, looking for work, managing finances, public speaking or taking a test.
